It’s never good to see a company go under and need to file bankruptcy, especially a company in your own field of practice. However, that is exactly what has happened in the world of hypnosis with a nationwide company called Positive Changes Hypnosis Centers. But what makes this most interesting is not necessarily the bankruptcy itself, as many companies could easily find themselves in a position of struggle financially. Rather, it's being overly consumed with the "bigger is better" glass and brass - larger than life aspects of business, while losing sight of why you got into this business in the first place...which is to help people.
Reading the news of Positive Changes Hypnosis only serves as a reminder of why I keep my hypnosis practice small in a manageable way, and I always stay grounded.
Sure, we have a very large clientele from the New England area, but this hasn’t resulted in losing touch with reality. And sure, we could easily spend thousands of dollars opening a bunch of fancy hypnosis locations all over the place. But the expense would be at losing my sense of direction as to why I got into hypnosis in the first place...again to help people.
In the end, the saddest part about all of this is that a company that most likely originally set forth to help people change and improve their lives, has now left many of those very same people out thousands of dollars.
