I wrote this article for a few reasons. The first being that although it is becoming much more accepted as a form of treatment I have to admit that when I mention to people that I perform hypnosis, many times I still get a reaction similar to as if I just told them that I perform black magic rituals or some kind of voodoo.
Now, I can sort of understand their reaction since hypnotherapy is still seen by many people as a little bit offbeat, even though it is a perfectly normal and natural art, just as yoga or meditation. I also can’t blame their reaction since we as a society, have grown so dependent on pills, medications and drugs. And so, since we do not fully understand the human mind and its potential, it is really no big surprise that many people doubt our own capabilities to create change
Furthermore, we have all been taught that personal change is hard, difficult, takes a lot of time and you need a lot of willpower to make it happen. However, if you were to ask the many people who do use hypnosis why it is that they use it, they would ALL say that hypnosis is easy, quick, natural and takes very little time, whilst the benefits are truly amazing. But again since this goes against all that we have been taught, to those who remain skeptical it simply can not be real.
The next reason I wrote this article is because when people think of hypnosis, we often get an impression of a magician on stage making people do silly things like barking like a dog. Well, I can tell you that hypnosis is used for a lot more than making people bark like dogs or cluck like chickens. The following is a list of some famous people that have used hypnosis and their reason(s) for using it.

In closing, these are just a few famous people who have used and benefited from the power of hypnosis. I hope that this article was able to inspire you a bit to maybe think of some reason why you might benefit from hypnosis.
